$1,100,000 settlement for young woman who suffered a severely fractured ankle which required multiple surgeries as the result of a motor vehicle collision.

$1,200,000 settlement of a medical malpractice case for a woman who suffered compartment syndrome as the result of a surgical error during a procedure to repair a tibial fracture.

$1,250,000 settlement for 57 year old truck driver who suffered aggravation of preexisting degenerative changes in his neck and lower back as a result of tractor-trailer collision.

$690,000 settlement for 60 year old pedestrian who suffered aggravation of preexisting degenerative changes in her back as a result of being hit by a car.

$2,350,000 settlement for 74 year old pedestrian who suffered multiple facial fractures and post traumatic dementia as a result of being hit by a box truck while crossing the street.

$3,725,000 verdict for the estate of a married father of two minor children who died when he either fell from or jumped off of the running board on a moving tow truck. The tow truck was attempting to relocate a friend’s van when the decedent confronted it. The defendant contended that the decedent was intoxicated with a .21 blood alcohol level. Defendant’s offer was $50,000 before trial.

$1,155,392 verdict for plaintiff who was injured when the car he was driving was hit by debris discarded by a dump truck trailer which had toppled over onto its side. The defendant contended that the truck driver took evasive action in response to a phantom vehicle that cut him off. The plaintiff suffered a herniated disc at L5-S1 which required an anterior and posterior fusion. No settlement offer before trial.

$776,135 verdict for plaintiff who fell on wet wooden exterior stairs at the apartment building where she was a tenant. The plaintiff walked down the middle of the staircase despite the presence of handrails on each side. She claimed that the handrail on her right was not stable so she considered it unavailable. Landlord contended that the subject handrail was a little loose but that the other handrail was available. The plaintiff suffered a comminuted fracture of her right tibia and a spiral fracture of her right fibula. No offer by the defendant before trial.

$278,000 verdict for the plaintiff whose leg became entangled in the leash of the defendant’s dog at a garage sale and she fell. Plaintiff suffered fractures involving her left femur. The defendant denied that the dog’s leash had anything to do with the plaintiff’s fall. No offer by the defendant before trial.

$260,000 settlement for plaintiff who suffered a wrist fracture (nonoperated) as the result of a motor vehicle collision.

$2,950,000 settlement of plaintiff’s product liability claim against manufacturer of wheelchair and the service company responsible for maintenance. The plaintiff fell from his wheelchair when the fasteners used to attach the arm to the wheelchair allegedly failed. The plaintiff suffered injury to his brachial plexus resulting in diminished dexterity and use of his dominant arm.

$2,000,000 settlement of medical malpractice action for 66 year old plaintiff who suffered right sided partial hemiparesis following spinal surgery.
